Apart from the recent teasers, photos and the trailer from Comic-Con 2013, 'Doctor Who' fans have been dying for a look at the 50th anniversary special, "The Day of the Doctor," for some time. We've heard rumblings of a new trailer on the way before November 23, but in the meantime, check out the first official bit of new footage in a teaser for "The Day of the Doctor"!

It looks as though time might be in need of some adjustment, as our first teaser from "The Day of the Doctor" sees good ol' number 11 and Clara checking out a painting identified as "Elizabeth's Credentials," which certainly doesn't look like any history that we can remember. "But that's impossible!" says Clara. You're one to talk, Impossible Girl.

Says the BBC of the upcoming special:

The Doctors embark on their greatest adventure in this 50th anniversary special. In 2013, something terrible is awakening in London’s National Gallery; in 1562, a murderous plot is afoot in Elizabethan England; and somewhere in space an ancient battle reaches its devastating conclusion. All of reality is at stake as the Doctor’s own dangerous past comes back to haunt him.

Meanwhile, the BBC will release two short minisodes in anticipation of the landmark anniversary event, titled “The Last Day” and “The Night of the Doctor," respectfully. Their content and released dates have been kept under wraps, though it's been speculated one may be released on November 15 during the annual ‘Children in Need’ telethon, as had been suggested previously.

Elsewhere, the 23rd will also see the airing of a special by Professor Brian Cox on BBC Two about the science behind the show, coupled with ‘Sherlock‘ star Mark Gatiss’ ‘Doctor Who’ origins movie, ‘An Adventure in Space and Time.’ “The Day of the Doctor” itself will also be simulcast globally, and released in select US theaters for a 3D broadcast.

Take a look at the first bit of footage from the 'Doctor Who' 50th anniversary special in the comments, and stay tuned this weekend for more to come!
