Were you there?  Did you have problems parking?

I was looking forward to this concert for months.  What I wasn't looking forward to was the traffic.  I blame myself partly.  I should have gotten an earlier start.  Nevertheless, Syracuse PD announced on the day of the concert, that parking at the dome was not going to be easy because no private parking was going to be allowed.

Arriving late, I was afraid I was going to miss the concert.  We were dropped off at the front and the other person I went with, went to find parking.  It was close to 9:00 pm at this point and the Billy had not yet taken the stage, thankfully.  I think they realized that people were still trying to park and get inside.

So, the question arises...here is an artist that has not topped the charts in 20 years, how do you sell out the Carrier Dome?

Take a look at this playlist, think about how many songs you recognize.  That is how you sell out the Carrier Dome.

Given the shaky start of the evening due to the parking debacle, it turned out to be a great night, and given my newsfeed on Facebook, it appeared as though many others enjoyed the concert as well.

1. "A Matter of Trust"
2. "Pressure"
3. "Miami 2017 (Seen the Lights Go Out on Broadway)"
4. "The Entertainer"
5. "Summer, Highland Falls"
6. "Your Song" intro (Elton John cover)
7. "The Downeaster Alexa"
8. "Zanzibar"

A record setting 7 times to the Carrier Dome, Billy Joel is truly a Central New York favorite and proof that he certainly does have a "New York State of Mind"
