We hope to see you at "Utica On Tap", the largest craft beer event in Utica on Saturday, March 22nd at the Stanley Theater. There are over 60 craft beers to sample (for the 21 and over crowd with valid ID), including two brews from Sierra Nevada.

Sierra Nevada Brewing was founded back in 1979, at the time, there was no such thing as small-scale or “micro” brewery equipment. Everything needed for the brewery to work was repurposed or custom built. Most of the equipment in the brewery when doors first opened was made out of recycled dairy equipment.

One of the beers coming to Utica on Tap, Pale Ale, was born in 1980. The last of the founders money and countless months were spent mastering this beer.

He dumped 10 batches before getting the perfect balance into his Pale Ale, the beer that helped to launch the American craft beer movement and changed the tastes of millions."

Another great beer from Sierra Nevada to sample at Utica on Tap is the Ruthless Rye.

Rugged and resilient, rye has been a staple grain for ages and its spicy black pepper-like flavor has been prized by distillers and brewers for centuries. Rye thrives in the harshest conditions and comes to life in Ruthless, a spicy and rugged IPA with fruity, citrus and herbal hop notes balanced with the dry spiciness of the rye, making the beer aggressive yet comforting to bolster against whatever the winter winds may bring."
