Utica Comets defeated the Belleville Senators 5 to 4 t the Yardmen Arena and extend the point streak to 16 games. to say the Comets are hot would be an understatement.Just over 9 minutes into the first period Tony Cameranesi made it 1-0  in favor of the Comets. The lead increased to 2 to 0 when rookie Zack MacEwen scored. Comets lead scorer Boucher made it 3-0 Comets late in the first period.

Comets penalties late in the first period helped get the Senators o the board Ben Sexton scored his fifth of the year, then under a minute later, Nick Paul would again capitalize on the power play making it a 3-2 game.

A Comets power play at the start of the 3rd period would lead to a Senators short-handed goal. A goal in the third by Ben Sexton would put Belleville within two. Then with two and one-half minutes remaining in regulation, Sexton completed the hat trick making it a one-point game and Richard Bachman would shut the door on a power play giving the Comets a 5-4 victory over the Senators.

The Comets are back in action Wednesday at the Adirondack Bank Center puck drops at 7 pm.
