CNY Hometown Arts- Once Upon A Mattress

Looking for a good show this weekend? Look no further than our own backyard. On Friday, April 8 and Saturday, April 9, 2011, the Frankfort-Schuyler Jr./Sr. High School Vocal Music Department will present the musical comedy Once Upon a Mattress at 7:30 P.M. in the high school auditorium.

Set in a small kingdom in medieval times, the plot revolves around Prince Dauntless the Drab who is searching unsuccessfully for a bride. The law of the land states that no one may marry until Prince Dauntless is wed. With characters like the talkative, dominating Queen Aggravain, the mute King Sextimus, the wacky Princess Winnifred, Prince Harry, Lady Larkin, the minstrel, the jester, and the wizard, the show tells a fast-paced, extremely amusing tale.

Musical numbers in Once Upon a Mattress include "In a Little While, "Shy," "The Swamps of Home," "Very Soft Shoes," and "Yesterday I Loved You." Tickets are $6.00 and may be purchased through the high school office or at the door.
