Vada March is in the spotlight this week for CNY Bands That Rock.

Vada is local musician originally from Munnsville who's been performing for about ten years starting with open mic nights and La Vie Boheme Bistro in Oneida. She now enjoys writing and producing her music. Musically she plays pretty much anything she can get her hands on including the piano and guitar.

We asked Vada what go her interested in music and she says being able to tell a story.

Everybody has things that they've gone through and that can relate to other people. I think it's a unique craft to be able to take something from your life and make it so someone else might not feel so alone.

Vada loves playing local festivals and gigs, but her favorite so far was the Launch Music Conference and Festival in Lancaster PA. She was playing in the lobby of the conference center, and all the musicians were coming in and out while she was on stage. One of the panelists, Kevin Lyman, dropped in while she was playing and she says it was cool knowing on their radar. Kevin owns a live event production company.  His most famous production is the Vans Warped Tour, which attracts about 750,000 people annually and is the longest-running North American festival concert tour that started in 1995.

Vada's Facebook Page will give you more info on where she's playing and how to purchase her music.

We are pleased to partner with Big Apple Music in CNY Bands That Rock. Big Apple Music is a proud supporter of local musicians and bands.
