It was a hard fought, extremely negative, three-way race for New York's 22nd Congressional district. Ultimately, it was the current Assemblywoman Claudia Tenney who won over the majority of voters. She has officially earned the title of Congresswoman-elect, beating Kim Myers and Martin Babinec with 44% of the vote.

According to a release from the Tenney campaign she states,

“I am humbled that the voters of the 22 Congressional District have placed their trust in me to represent them in the Congress.  I am grateful for each and every vote, for all of my supporters and to have the opportunity to serve.  This is among the highest honors of my life. I will provide an independent voice in Congress for the middle class families, small businesses, family farms and regular hard working people who simply don’t have a voice in Washington.  I will work to rebuild New York’s manufacturing economy, stop bad trade deals, secure the border, rebuild our military and protect our veterans.  Throughout my short time in politics, I have stood up, when others would not, to challenge the failed policies of the political class--and I have proven my ability to work across the aisle to get results that benefit our community.  That’s the same type of leadership I will bring to Washington."

Claudia Tenney's win was one of many that secured GOP control in both the House and the Senate.
