Looking for a house or vacant lot in the city of Rome?  Thanks to tax foreclosures over the past year, Rome has 78 properties up for sale.  Those include 21 houses, 56 vacant lots, and one alley.

Instead of selling those properties through a mass auction, the city now uses a rehabilitation program.  There is a real property committee that reviews proposals from interested buyers.

Anyone wishing to buy city owned property must submit a proposal form.  Those will be evaluated based on use of the property, scope and length of rehabilitation of the property, and the offering price.  The minimum bid on all properties is $500.
