The Jets have found a new running back, and he's a playmaker in the backfield unlike anyone they've had behind the quarterback since Curtis Martin.

Nicknamed CJ2K for his incredible 2,000 yard season back in 2009, Johnson and the Jets came to terms on a deal after a meeting earlier this week, according to NewYorkJets.com.

"I've always been a big fan of the Jets," he told Eric Allen and me this afternoon in Woody Johnson's suite. "There was some thought into this, but just at the end of the day, I was comfortable here. I just felt like it was the right situation."

In the four seasons since his 2,000 yard campaign, Johnson hasn't been quite as successful but has rushed for at least a thousand each season - amassing a total of 27 TD runs.

And he can also make plays receiving in the backfield, averaging about 40 catches and 350 or so yards through his career.

The Jets' other offseason big-name grab was Eric Dekker - who averaged 86 catches, 1,100 yards and 12 touchdowns over the last years, albeit with Peyton Manning at the helm. Gang Green will have either second year signal caller Geno Smith, or the oft injured Michael Vick (another free agent pickup) calling plays.
