Chester’s Flower Shop Will ‘Petal It Forward’ In Utica

Chester's Flower Shop will be hitting the streets next week to hand out flowers as part of a nationwide event called 'Petal it Forward.'

On Wednesday, October 19, each person will get two bouquets of flowers and Chester's is asking you to keep one for yourself and spread happiness by giving one away to a stranger or loved one.

"We see the positive impact day in and day out when we make our flower deliveries," said Bill Waszkiewicz from Chester's. "People love to get flowers 'just because' so we wanted to create random smiles and give people the chance to do the same for someone else."

The 'Petal it Forward' program was created by the Society of American Florists after a new study by the group showed the positive emotional benefits of flowers.

The team from Chester's will give away two bouquets each to people on the street and at local businesses. After getting your flowers, you're asked to spread the happiness by gifting your extra flower bouquet, and sharing the happiness on social media using #petalitforward.
