SU’s Carrier Dome to Get Much-Needed $118M Facelift by 2020

The Carrier Dome is getting a $118 million dollar facelift starting this summer and will be complete by Fall of 2020. Among the biggest improvements are a brand new cable-truss supported roof (byebye air bubble), a floating central scoreboard, some sound and lighting improvements and even get this, (and ohhh the irony) AIR CONDITIONING!

Work on the several-year project starts next month and the new roof won't go in until 2019, air conditioning by 2022. Above all according to officials, this project won't disrupt all of the sporting events occuring there!
