Ron Thal, the guitarist known as "Bumblefoot" and played with Guns N' Roses from 2006 until 2014, has bladder cancer. This is his second bout with the disease, having been diagnosed with it in 2014.

Our sister site Loudwire found that he had posted the news on Facebook back on Aug. 24. "2 weeks ago I was diagnosed with bladder cancer again," he wrote. "Two tumors, immediate surgery needed, got it the morning after the Metal Allegiance show, *all is fine* (carefully played the Rock Against Dystrophy All Star Edition 2016 show a week later, playing in Brazil tomorrow), re-checks every 3 months for the next 2 years."

While the tumors were removed, he noted that he also has "Nodules on both lungs as well, too small to crack the chest open for, gotta re-check those in a year for changes."

Bumblefoot appears to be taking his health problems with a positive outlook and a sense of humor. "Like I said in the interview, 'as long as you're happy and you're living well, that's what matters.' Happy to be making music, to be doing what I set out to do 40 years ago. With great people, for great people. That's living well. Love ya's!!" And in the comments of his post, he linked to Frank Zappa's "Why Does It Hurt When I Pee?"

The guitarist last played with Guns N' Roses in 2014, but kept it secret until July 2015, shortly after DJ Ashba announced his departure. Last year, Bumblefoot released a solo album called Little Brother Is Watching.
