When my sister got married back in Albany at the end of March I was lucky enough to stop at one of the best pubs in Albany, Brown’s Brewing Company. It really was a great experience and the staff was really helpful finding the right beer for my tastes. Heck, they even sold growlers. What more could you want?

Brown’s Brewing Company is now officially the largest brewpub in New York State, according to the Brewer’s Association’s New Brewer Annual Industry Review of 2011. With 2,650 barrels of beer brewed in 2011, Brown’s also ranked as the 5th largest brewpub in the Northeast and the 25th largest in the United States.

2012 promises even more growth as Brown’s opens the Malt Room, a new cask conditioned ale focused bar in the basement of Revolution Hall early this Summer. Brown’s River Street brewhouse is nearly at full production capacity and the Company continues to build out its new Walloomsac production facility in Hoosick Falls to keep up with demand. The new brewery will be dedicated to bottling and kegging Brown’s leading wholesale brands and be the hub for its expanded distribution throughout the Northeast.”

The Taproom at Brown’s Brewing Company features over a dozen dependably fresh ales and lagers on draught on any given day.  Check out their full listing here. If you can make the drive out to Albany check out Brown’s on 417 River Street in Troy.
