UPDATE: New Hartford Police say the suspect has been located and is under arrest.

According to Sergeant Ronald Fontaine, officers received a call at around 11:30 this morning from a woman at St. Luke's Hospital who said her estranged boyfriend had called and made a threat.

Officers were told that he may be in North Utica, and UPD became involved in searching for the suspect.

Fontaine says the lockdown was issued for the schools because of his unknown whereabouts, and many schools used it as an emergency drill in light of last week's Valley shooting spree.

The man is charged with Criminal Contempt and Aggravated Assault, since the call violated an order of protection.

Utica schools were put on lockdown, but buses are now being loaded. Parents may pick up their children, but they must have identification.

After school activities have been canceled.

The Utica City School District says all Utica schools are currently on lockdown.  UCSD Superintendent, Bruce Karam, says a domestic dispute in New Hartford is the cause of the lockdown, and that this is a precautionary measure.

WIBX will update this story as more information becomes available.
