Book Signing at Barnes and Noble in New Hartford on Saturday

Barnes and Noble in New Hartford is going to have a once in a lifetime event this weekend. It's your chance to meet Shane Mitchell, author of Far Afield.

This Saturday, December 17th, from 1:00-3:00, Shane Mitchell, author of Far Afield: Rare Food Encounters From Around the World will be signing copies of her book.

Hailing from New York's Northern Country area, she is a James Beard Foundation Award finalist and has received the IACP Culinary Writing prize. She is also a Saveur contributing editor and was formerly Travel Leisure's special correspondent.

Far Afield is about Mitchell's journey around the world, meeting many people from many different cultures that are keeping their culinary techniques alive. It features foods from taro farmers in Hawaii, Maasai Warriors in Kenya, and Icelandic sheppards with foods from their Viking ancestors. Not to mention the amazing photography from these stunning locations.
