Bridgeport, NY (WIBX) – The Madison County Sheriff’s Office is awaiting the results of an autopsy as they continue to investigate the discovery of a body in Oneida Lake.

No identification was found on the man and sheriffs say that no information will be released until the man’s identity is one hundred percent certain.

The body was found last night by two boaters.

It was floating in the water about 100 feet from shore behind a home on Pierce Road just east of Bridgeport.

The victim is a white man believed to be in his 40′s or 50′s.

Sheriff Allen Riley says it appears the victim may have suffered a medical condition while swimming.

An autopsy will be conducted by the Onondaga County Medical Examiner’s Office.
