The local music scene of Central New York, and all of Camden, are waking up to the terrible news of the passing of Bob Fleming.

Many know Fleming as a member of The Moss Back Mule Band. Bob played guitar and vocals for the group. The band has played concerts with The Band, Charlie Daniels, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Hank Williams Jr., Pure Prairie League, Commander Cody, the Subdudes and other national acts since the 1970's. Other than playing with the band, you would see Bob out in about in Central New York playing at various open mic nights, and truly living and breathing the local music scene. He was more than just a friend to countless musicians. Even up until the past few weeks, you could have caught Bob out playing and performing:

Bob is actually family to this author. Bob was my father's cousin. Because of Bob, my lifelong obsession of deep fried turkey began after sampling Bob's creation at a family reunion at Lake Delta. Since then, my biggest regret has been not seeing him perform live outside of our family get-together. He was always very kind to me, and my family.

"An era has ended...I will miss you so...thank you for all of your support and music...be at peace Bob Fleming"- Karen A. Edwards

"My heart is so sad for the family and friends of Bob Fleming tonight...Bob lived his life fully every day and he brought so much joy to the musical community of Camden. I will miss Bob's wonderful smile and his warm hugs...."- Julie Willcox Martin

"Tonight immediately after getting the news of one of my cousin's death, as I sat looking up into the night sky I saw a shooting star. made me think of the Bad Company song Shooting Star and Bob Fleming was always a Star in my eyes. The world lost another great musician!"- Theresa Wheeler Rizzo

Bob was an amazing father, and truly an amazing musician. He will be missed by many. Our thoughts and prayers are with him and his family at this time.
