Steve Guyger is a renowned blues-harmonica player, singer and songwriter who has been performing with some of the finest blues musicians since the 70′s. He put on a great show at the 2015 Mohawk Valley Blues Festival.

Steve Guyger is one of the best blues harmonica players and singers on the scene today, having served an apprenticeship with the late great Jimmy Rogers for many years. The Mohawk Valley Blues Society put a band of area musicians behind him, including Rochester’s Steve Grills and Syracuse’s Morris Tarbell on guitar, as well as Sean Peters on stand-up bass and the ubiquitous Phil Leone on drums.

What a bunch of professionals. You would never know that Steve had not played with the band before. They also added another 30 minutes or so to the set list. Kudos to all. They pulled it off without a hitch.

Before Steve Guyger took the stage I asked him if he had any advice for new musicians. This is what he said.
