Blizzard Planning to Memorialize Robin Williams in World of Warcraft
As the world mourns the loss of the great actor and comedian Robin Williams, many companies have taken to social media to express their grief and offer their memories about the late actor’s life. Blizzard is one of those companies, but a recent Tweet of support they left on the official Warcraft Twitter may suggest more than just 140 characters of sadness.
The following Tweet suggests that Blizzard has something planned for the beloved actor:
.@robinwilliams Thank you. You gave us so much joy in our lives, and we hope you enjoyed your time in our world. We’ll see you in-game.

The Tweet was made in response to a petition made (with nearly 11,000 signatures), asking Blizzard to create a Williams-themed NPC in World of Warcraft because of his vocalized support of the game in the past. If Blizzard is indeed planning a tribute, we commend them for it. Williams was a huge fan of gaming, naming his daughter Zelda because of his love for the famous Nintendo franchise. Williams even gained a reputation as an avid World of Warcraft player. Immortalizing him in Azeroth would be a fitting way to acknowledge his support of the game.
Never forget, he could fly, he could fight and he could crow.
