Betty White is on a roll! She spoke her mind on celebrities who are rushing to destroy their careers and now she is being honored for how a celebrity should use their status. The first-ever Betty White Inspiration Award from Actors and Others for Animals has gone to … Betty White. The veteran actress and animal lover received the honor Saturday at the group’s 40th anniversary luncheon in Los Angeles. Her “Hot in Cleveland” castmates Valerie Bertinelli, Jane Leeves and Wendie Malick, were invited to attend, as well as Fred Willard, Jennifer Love Hewitt, Jamie Lee Curtis and Susan Lucci. Later that day, White received another honor. She was given the

American Red Cross Crystal Cross Award for her contributions to animal welfare. It comes as the Red Cross is setting up a nationwide program to aid and shelter animals during emergencies and provide other pet services. Also honored by the Red Cross on Saturday was Josh Duhamel. He helped raise money for the Red Cross’ Haiti Relief by leading a Youth Run for Haiti on Santa Monica Beach after the earthquake.
