Batter Hit By Pitch. Catches It With Elbow. Chuck’s It Back.

I doubt we will ever see this kind of catch again. Just a freak moment caught on video. This You Tube viewer summed it up perfectly:

"What makes this amazing really has nothing to do with the rules of baseball. It's just a feat of crazy reflexes and strength, not to mention the fact that that had to hurt like heck, you shouldn't be able to catch anything thrown under those conditions. The batter is there to hit a 90+ mph ball with a bat, not to catch a ball backwards and with his elbow. Most of the time if the guy throwing the ball misses that badly, the guy with the bat just usually ends up hit, and in serious pain."

 

Talk about quick reflexes and a little luck. The player earned his free base that's for sure.The announcer made this sound so exciting. Just a little over the top.
