Batman: Arkham Knight Trailer: Batmobile Battle-Mode
Ever since news first leaked that the next installment in Rocksteady Games’ Batman: Arkham series would feature the Batmobile, wannabe caped crusaders have been clamoring for more info on the legendary vehicle and its capabilities in the game. Last week gave us a glimpse at what it can do on the streets of Gotham, and E3 will let a few lucky players kick the tires next week. Today, though, we get our first look at the Batmobile’s armament in a new trailer for Batman: Arkham Knight.
You’ll never see Batman fighting crime with a rifle or a handgun, but he apparently has a very different take on what guns his car can wield. The Batmobile is not messing around. Switching to battle-mode, the high-speed creation of Wayne Industries becomes a tank, toting a 60mm kinetic energy cannon, a Vulcan gun with incendiary ammo, a laser-guided missile salvo and a non-lethal riot suppression gun. It also looks freaking cool as hell.
Every update from WB and Rocksteady has raised the level of anticipation for Batman: Arkham Knight, and this one is no different. I imagine Batman won’t be firing incendiary rounds or homing missiles into soft targets, but rather using his heavy weapons to affect the environment, i.e. burning away Mr. Freeze’s ice barriers with the Vulcan gun.
Batman: Arkham Knight is scheduled for release some time next year on PS4, Xbox One and PC.
