Louisiana blues artist Kenny Neal is headlining the 2015 Mohawk Valley Blues Festival on August 8th at the Herkimer County Fairgrounds. Kenny Neal, acclaimed multi-instrumentalist is widely renowned as a modern swamp-blues master. Kenny was born in New Orleans and raised in Baton Rouge. He began playing music at a very young age. His father, singer and blues-harmonica master, Raful Neal taught him the basics. Kenny Neal grew up in the same Baton Rouge musical tradition that brought us Slim Harpo and Lazy Lester, but he adds a modern edge to his music.

Kenny Neal mastered the bass, trumpet, piano, guitar and harmonica. He's shared the stage or worked with B.B. King, Bonnie Raitt, Muddy Waters, Aaron Neville, Buddy Guy and John Lee Hooker. He also fronted Canada's Downchild Blues Band, before returning to Baton Rouge to begin his solo career.
