With the influenza vaccine helping little more than half of the people who take it, we're looking for other ways to keep our noses clean, literally! I mean, we've all been fighting that persistent cough or stomach bug for weeks or months now, so what's another way to defend ourselves from this monster and get rid of it?

It's simple, just keep your hands away from your face. Apparently we touch our face once every 15-20 minutes and that's usually how we get sick with germs entering through our ears, nose or throat. Of course we wash our hands a few times a day after visits to the bathroom or eating, but a few times an HOUR?? Just in the 5 minutes of starting this post I've inadvertently touched my face 3 times (that I know of) and now I just did it a fourth time itching my nose! I'm starting to think this task is dang near impossible! Yup, and I just did it a fifth time! Man, I'm itchy, haha! No wonder I've got this cough, guess it's time to follow my kids lead and stifle these coughs with my elbow instead...

Anyway, this seems like an impossible feat short of wearing latex gloves all of the time! Might as well live in a bubble or something! Guess we're not laughing at Howie Mandel's OCD anymore...
