When Kiss shipped their 1974 debut album out to radio stations, it included a little something extra in the form of a full color poster of the band. Nearly 40 years later, that one-time freebie courtesy of Casablanca Records & Tapes has a collector’s value of at least $1500, based on the one that recently sold on eBay.
Eric Clapton’s vintage valve amplifier recently sold on eBay for over 2,000 British pounds — the equivalent of about $3200 US dollars. That may sound like a lot, but since this Radford STA 25 Series III is a classic and signed and dated by a 19-year-old Clapton, it’s a true collectors’ piece.
The Beatles‘ Apple Records logo is nearly as iconic as the band it represents. When this rare 1968 promotional belt appeared on eBay, it sold just shy of $1,500. That’s a pretty penny to pay for an old leather belt, but try telling that to a Beatles collector.
Kiss items are extremely collectible and we’ve seen some outrageous prices paid for their guitars, autographs and vinyl. Recently four bidders placed a dozen bids in the hopes of winning a sealed ‘Music from the Elder’ 8-track cassette from 1981. The seven-day auction ended when $295.00 secured the collectible, taking the bid to a winning status on eBay. In the collecting market this isn’t a lot of cash but at the end of the day, it’s an awful lot of money for an eight-track tape!
Sixteen Beatles collectors bid on a ‘Hey Jude’ album that went up for auction on eBay last week. Ten days after its initial posting, the record, which started out at $9.99, landed the seller a grand total of $1,914.99.
Despite having recently had a storage unit containing his archives robbed, Alice Cooper is extending an invite to interested golfers to register for the annual Rock & Roll Classic taking place Sunday (April 23) and Monday (April 24) at the Las Sendas Golf Club, rated as one of the top ten courses in Arizona. Cooper is looking for support to help continue providing his Solid Rock programs and services that help at-risk youth change their lives.
A rare version of Led Zeppelin’s self-titled vinyl release sold for approximately $1,890.00 earlier this month on eBay. Take note, this is not the same self-titled copy you have in your personal collection; this is the highly sought out, first pressing of the band’s original 1969 UK debut.
‘You’ve Got It’ is the latest Bruce Springsteen song to be released as part of the ‘Wrecking Ball’ pre-release promotion. The campaign promises to deliver all of the album’s new songs, one by one, up to the point of its March 6 street date.
