Rare ‘Breakfast Club’ Deleted Scene Takes You Inside the Girls’ Bathroom
Over three decades after The Breakfast Club first charmed audiences, John Hughes’ high school classic still resonates with young viewers despite the growing generational divide. The years since its initial release have proven that The Breakfast Club is timeless, so it’s about damn time The Criterion Collection gave Hughes’ film the prestige upgrade treatment. The January 2 release will include never-before-seen footage and deleted scenes, like this newly-unearthed clip of Molly Ringwald and Ally Sheedy.
Mantis and Rocket Tend to Thor’s Ouchies in New ‘Infinity War’ Photo
There are plenty of reasons we can’t wait for 2017 to end and 2018 to begin, not the least of which is that this year has felt like, 20 years long. Thankfully, movies have kept us sane and happy throughout this garbage fire, and they’ll continue to do so in 2018, giving us not one, not two, but three new adventures in the Marvel Cinematic Universe — including the studio’s biggest film yet, Avengers: Infinity War, which assembles the series’ largest ensemble of superheroes (and villains) to date.
Another Marvel Hero Has Been Confirmed for ‘Avengers 4’
The first trailer for Avengers: Infinity War dropped this week, offering fans a sneak peek at Marvel’s biggest film to date. Featuring the largest collection of MCU characters to appear together on screen, Joe and Anthony Russo’s super-sequel will pit our heroes against Thanos in a massive war over the fate of the universe. As such, we can expect a few of our favorite superheroes to bite the dust, but we now know of at least one more who will survive the Infinity War to appear in Avengers 4. Potential spoilers ahead!
Daisy Ridley Is Leaving ‘Star Wars’ After ‘Episode IX’
Although only the second installment in the latest Star Wars trilogy is hitting theaters in a couple of weeks, Lucasfilm is already looking ahead to the future of the franchise. The Last Jedi writer and director Rian Johnson has been tapped to develop a new trilogy with new characters as the franchise finally leaves the Skywalker saga behind. That means we’ll be saying goodbye to some of our favorite characters from the current trilogy — and that includes Rey, according to Daisy Ridley.
You Can Watch the Terrifying Opening Scene From ‘IT’ Right Now
IT is the biggest horror film of the year, and if you still haven’t seen Andy Muschietti’s surprisingly great adaptation of Stephen King’s classic novel (doubtful, you’re smart people), then perhaps the opening scene from the movie will persuade you…or maybe it’ll just reinforce your decision to stay the heck at home in your comfy, cozy, sewer clown-free environment. Beep beep!
Don Rickles, Iconic Comedian and Actor, Dead at 90
Don Rickles’ talents were seemingly limitless: An outrageous insult comic, a gifted dramatic actor, a welcome sight on stages and screens (big and small), and a constant presence whose career endured for decades, often surpassing his contemporaries. And now he’s gone on to join them, as the legendary Rickles passed away today, April 6, at the age of 90.
‘I Want My MTV’ Movie in the Works With ‘The End of the Tour’ Director James Ponsoldt
Major studios have been in nostalgia overdrive for years, with everything from Transformers to new Star Wars sequels to Disney’s live-action remakes of classic animated films, and even a…Power Rangers movie…yeah, sure, why not. But A24 has their sights set on a different kind of nostalgia with plans to revisit the golden age of MTV with James Ponsoldt, the director of The Spectacular Now and last year’s acclaimed drama The End of the Tour.
‘Deadpool 2’ Gets Official Confirmation With Ryan Reynolds and Director Tim Miller Returning
Three days before Deadpool even hit theaters, word got around that Fox was already developing a sequel with screenwriters Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick returning. Since then we’ve heard a lot about what to expect from the sequel (Cable, mostly) despite the fact that Fox had yet to make an official announcement. That changed today at CinemaCon, of course, where the studio made it all very officially official, confirming the return of both Ryan Reynolds and director Tim Miller for Deadpool 2.
‘The Jungle Book’ IMAX Trailer: Scarlett Johansson’s Kaa Tells Mowgli’s Origin Story
In one of The Jungle Book’s more inspired bits of casting, Scarlett Johansson voices the python Kaa, a character typically portrayed as male. Johansson's distinctive voice is perfect for the hypnotic snake, who lulls Mowgli into a precarious sense of ease as she recounts his origin story in this new IMAX trailer for Jon Favreau's re-telling of the classic tale.
‘Blade Runner 2’ Adds Known Human Robin Wright to the Cast
Denis Villeneuve is set to begin filming Blade Runner 2 this summer, and as pre-production picks up steam, so do the casting announcements for the highly-anticipated project— which means this thing is absolutely happening. Robin Wright has joined Ryan Gosling and Harrison Ford in the long-awaited sequel to Ridley Scott’s sci-fi classic (and arguable masterpiece, depending on which version you’re watching), snatching up one of three major female roles in the film.
‘Baywatch’ Photo Introduces Dwayne Johnson’s Squad
It’s not enough to inspire #SquadGoals, but at least the cast of Baywatch looks like they’re having a blast in the latest photo update from Dwayne Johnson. The actor shows off his new squad, and sure, this could be a photo from the Baywatch set — or it could be the centerfold in a Macy’s summer catalogue. Baywatch Squadgate 2016, you be the judge
New Photos From ‘Star Trek Beyond,’ ‘Suicide Squad,’ ‘Ghostbusters’ and More Summer Films
The summer movie season is about a month away, kicking off with Marvel’s Captain America: Civil War and continuing through August with Suicide Squad. There are other, non-superhero movies hitting theaters this summer, if you can believe it, and we have some new photos from those and several of this year’s other blockbuster offerings. You’re probably already properly excited for a lot of these movies thanks to their trailers, but if you’re eager for another sneak peek, these photos should do the trick.
