‘Assassin’s Creed’ Film Delayed to 2016

While we're breaking out the chimichangas for the 'Deadpool' movie's 2015 release, Fox is sheathing its hidden blade and pushing the 'Assassin's Creed' film back to 2016.

The Hollywood Reporter reports that Michael Fassbender's 'Assassin's Creed,' which was originally set for an Aug. 7, 2015 launch, has been delayed to 2016. Inside sources claim that its script has gone through multiple rewrites. Its development has also had some large scheduling issues, likely with Fassbender and the film's supporting cast. This would make sense as to why New Regency has yet to unveil any other actors or actress planned to star in the film.

Taking 'Assassin's Creed's original Aug. 7 release date is Josh Trank's 'Fantastic Four' reboot, which was originally set to debut on June 19. There is some good news at least -- 'Deadpool' will be coming out on Feb. 12, 2016, and it is highly likely that Ryan Reynolds will star as our favorite Merc with a Mouth.

While no exact launch window is in sight, we hope to see Michael Fassbender wear the cowl of Assassin's Creed sometime in 2016.
