Also in 1978 U.S. Teachers would go on strike extending the summer vacation for thousands of students. If you made 17,000 a year, you were doing pretty good. A pound of bacon would cost around a dollar twenty, and a dozen eggs would set ya back forty eight cents. Rent was around $ 260.00, and gas around 63 cents a gallon. On the Billboard Pop Charts, some of the big songs were Stayin Alive,  Grease, Lay Down Sally, and Hot Child In The City. Its American Top 40 The Seventies with Host Casey Kasem starting at 6am Sunday morning on Oldiez 96.1.
