With the newly discovered bodies of the Jamestown settlers, it looks like people are taking more interest in our nation's rich history.  Unfortunately, it looks like some people have gotten their history confused.  Live Science, Fox News and several other news sources have made reference to the bodies being discovered near an historic church in Jamestown.

The four men were buried at the Jamestown church, the same spot where Captain John Smith and Pocahontas married. (www.livescience.com)

Hmmm, doesn't that sound more like something out of an animated movie?

1614 - Pocahontas marries John Rolfe.  Pocahontas, daughter of the chief of the Powhatan Indian confederacy, marries English tobacco planter John Rolfe in Jamestown, Virginia. The marriage ensured peace between the Jamestown settlers and the Powhatan Indians for several years. (www.History.com)

A quick check of The History Channel's website (or just about any other historical website) shows that yes, Pocahontas did marry John Rolfe, just like you learned in high school History class.
