Aldi Expanding Into Organic And Gluten Free Food
Aldi is revamping their brand and expanding into low-cost organic food.
'Simply smarter shopping' is the Aldi motto and now they're taking it a step further. In October 2015, Aldi announced it had removed certified synthetic colors, removed partially hydrogenated oils (PHOs) and removed added MSG from all of its exclusive brand food products. Now they're expanding into a much wider variety in low-cost organic food. Here's an overview.
- Expanding its selection of fresh and organic meat and produce, including the Never Any! brand of meat products that contain no added antibiotics, hormones, animal by-products or other additives.
- Expanding the SimplyNature line of products, free of more than 125 artificial ingredients, as well as a gluten-free line of products under the ALDI exclusive brand, liveGfree.
- Aldi's milk is already free of artificial growth hormones, and now they're eliminating it from yogurt, sour cream, cottage cheese, and other dairy products.
Business Insider reports Aldi is 30% cheaper than Walmart in a recent price check. Great news for health-conscious shoppers.
