5 Facts About Christmas Vacation

Carlo Allegri/Getty Images

Christmas Vacation is one of my favorite Christmas movies of all time. Can not tell you how many times I have seen it since it opened back in 1989. Here are a few interesting you might enjoy about the movie.

1)  In the beginning of the movie when they are driving to get the Griswold family Christmas tree Clark pushes the gas pedal to the floor the car goes really fast in the background it shows the car at normal speed.

2) In the part where they are all sleeping in the chairs the T V is showing the Macy s Thanksgiving Day Parade which is shown on Thanksgiving day not the week before Christmas.

3)  When Uncle Lewis back is on fire, as he turns they will cut to Clark and then back to him and in the new shot his hair is different meaning that they used a stunt guy for the scene.

4)  In its opening weekend back in 1989 Christmas Vacation got destroyed by Back To The Future 2.

5)  Christmas Vacation was one of three movies in 1989 to use animated credits.
