Wine in the Wilderness is coming up this weekend at the Utica Zoo - Saturday evening, June 6, 2015.  It's always a fun event, and this year looks to be no exception.  But we wanted to remind you about the dangers of wandering around the zoo while you get your buzz on.

    Lions

This should be fairly obvious.  You DO NOT want to tip back a merlot, then run up to the lion cage to see if you can make it "meow".

    African Crested Porcupines

They may be small, but those quills sure would hurt.  If you like to drink chardonnay and hug small animals, avoid this part of the zoo completely.

    Peacock

To be honest, I'm not quite sure what this is - peacock, pea fowl, whatever.  It's always hanging around the Voss' stand and loves to steal french fries.  This may be the most vicious animal you'll encounter at Wine in the Wilderness - don't leave your wine or food unattended while it's around!

    Sea Lion

Don't be fooled.  The Sea Lions are great to watch while they're swimming, but one splash and your cabernet could become a unique new blend.

    Monkeys

The monkeys at the Utica Zoo make a whooping noise that can be heard quite a distance away.  If you've had a few too many glasses of wine and you think you're hearing sirens, it might be time to switch to water.
