Many people wouldn’t think twice about sharing their holiday meal with their pets, but local veterinarians says that by doing so you could be putting your pet in harm’s way.

We all feel that Fido is part of the family and deserves some holiday goodies, but remember that your pets can choke on turkey bones, or even get the bone stuck in their mouth.

It’s not just table scraps you should be concerned with, it’s the garbage.  No I’m not talking about my wife’s cooking, I’m talking about what we throw away…spoiled food and uncooked food can be dangerous for your pet.  They are full of bacteria which will lead to food poisoning.

Vets say that it is okay to give your pet a small portion of food, like mashed potatoes, or some white meat off of the turkey, but don’t let them overeat.
