Operation Christmas Is A Bust

Has it happened yet? The kids found the hidden Christmas presents? What did you do? Did you have some ‘splainin to do? Well, it happened to me a couple of years ago. It wasn’t his fault, but my youngest wandered down into the basement and it just so happened that we have almost everything spread out on the table. You see, we were just getting ready to get everything wrapped. Right place right time, or wrong place wrong time.

I almost lost, wait, no not almost…I did lose it. I don’t know if he was more upset that I screamed at him, or that he may have realized where the Christmas presents really come from.

He said he didn’t see anything, but I think he was trying to save face. He didn’t want Christmas to be ruined.

What do you do in a situation like this? Has this ever happened to you? What do you tell them? Was I justified in being mad? More mad at myself, I guess.
