Thanksgiving is right around the corner, and Christmas will be here before we know it - It's time to start getting into that holiday spirit. Are you having a little bit of trouble getting there? Are the kids not feeling it yet, either? Well, you can take them to one of these events going on around the area - They're sure to get you into the holiday mood!

1 - Night at the North Pole

This is the perfect activity to get the whole family ready for the holidays. 'Night at the North Pole' is happening at the Wingate By Windham of Rome on Saturday, December 5th. It's a complete day of holiday activities including a penguin pool party, holiday movies, and breakfast with Santa.

2 - Wonderland of Lights

The Wonderland of Lights presented by RCIL (The Resource Center for Independent Living) opens up on November 25th. You can take this amazing drive through Masonic Care Community and see thousands upon thousands of lights! Different displays - everything from Santa and his Sleigh and the reindeer, to elves and gigantic presents.

Cost is $8 per car (there are different prices if you have a bus or limo, of course), and the Wonderland is open from November 25 - January 1, 2016. (From 5:30p - 8:30p)

3 - The Holiday House in Rome

This is a special event that is put on by the Rome Art and Community Center. According to the RACC website,

Holiday House is a shopping extravaganza and artisan showcase...

This provides an amazing experience for the senses as you walk into a beautiful historic home that is fully decked out for the Holiday Season- but everything you see is for sale!

The Holiday House has two floors and many, MANY rooms all uniquely decorated for the holidays. Even if you don't end up buying anything, the walk-through is amazing in itself.

It's only $3 to get into the Holiday House, and it's open this weekend (November 20 - November 22) from 12n - 6pm.
