The AHL has announced their conference and division alignment for the 2013-2104 season, and the Utica Comets have been placed in the Western Conference's North Division.

The only other New York team in that division is the Rochester Americans. Along with the Amerks, Utica's divisional rivals will include the Cleveland area Lake Erie Monster, and Canadian teams, Toronto Marlies and Hamilton Bulldogs.

The four other New York State based AHL teams will play in the Eastern Conference. The Syracuse Crunch and Binghamton Senators are in the East division while the Albany Devils and Adirondack Phantoms will compete in the Northeast division.
