18 Year Old Kierha The Lion Has Died At Rosamond Gifford Zoo

Rosamond Gifford Zoo officials have sadly announced the death of their beloved female lion Kierha. 

Kierha was the last living triplet that came to the zoo more than 17 years ago. Her siblings, Mindine and Joshua, died in 2014 and 2015.

Her cause of death is still unknown but Syracuse.com reports Kierha had recently been anesthetized for examination after presenting evidence of health issues common to elderly female lions. "Unfortunately, she died due to complications of her condition," zoo officials wrote in a news release.

Anyone who ever saw Kierha knows how regal and impressive she was. We're sure she will be missed. RIP Kierha.
