14 KeyBank and First Niagara Branches Closing in Central New York

KeyBank is closing several branches, including one in New Hartford as part of the consolidation with First Niagara.

The Kellogg Road location in New Hartford is among 7 KeyBank branches closing in 2017. 14 KeyBank and First Niagara branches will close in Central New York over the next two years. 7 First Niagara banks close in October, while 7 KeyBank location close in 2017.

Senator Charles Schumer says the good news is, employees will not lose their jobs. They will be offered positions in other branches. “After months of discussions and tough negotiations with KeyBank, I am pleased we were able to reach an agreement that ensures thousands of KeyBank and First Niagara jobs will remain in New York for years to come. I look forward to making sure the terms of this plan, which is designed to save the maximum number of existing jobs, and create new ones, too, is lived up to."
