The 'Uticon' comic book show is returning to both raise funds for the American Cancer Society and celebrate the love of comic books and pop culture in the Mohawk Valley.

This will be the 12th year for the Uticon comic book show to be held at the Mohawk Valley Community College Alumni Building Sunday, September 27th from 10 AM to 4 PM. Admission is $5 for adults 18 and up, $3 for teens and students, 12 and under are free. All proceeds benefit the American Cancer Society

The event will include appearances by many professional and semi-professional comic book artists and writers, including: Steve Orlando (writer of DC Comics’ Midnighter & Batman Eternal), as well as local comic book creators Dave Dellecese and Andrew Cieslinski (Holidaze).

The show’s guest of honor is Michael T Desing, a cartoonist and gaming creator from Western NY who is also a cancer survivor. Desing has been self-publishing his own comics and role-playing games for many years. He is also the creator of the online comic strip, Teaching Ted, which takes a humorous look at a new English teacher’s first year of teaching.

The show will also feature an appearance by Fandom Photo, who will be bringing a replica of the Tardis from the hit TV series Dr Who, the car from the TV series Supernatural and a special ‘green screen’ photo drop where fans can place themselves into various famous sci-fi settings for photos. A portion of the proceeds from the photos will benefit the American Cancer Society.

Enjoy a number of vendors selling new & old comic books, role-playing games and other pop culture items.
