Edward Conway's may have sailed his last ride, but Ubisoft is calling for all hands on deck for Assassin's Creed Unity as more details of the Comet project emerge.

CVG reports that Ubisoft has announced Ubisoft Montreal will be leading production on Assassin's Creed Unity, and will be having assistance from the company's Toronto, Annecy, Shanhai, Quebec, Singapore, Kiev, Chengdu, Bucharest and Montpellier studios. That's right, ten different Ubisoft studios will be working on Assassin's Creed Unity. It would make sense that Ubisoft Montreal would be taking the reins of leadership, since it was the studio in charge of development of Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag. Unity was formally announced on Mar. 22 after its promotional material was leaked early.

Assassin's Creed Unity will be taking players to Paris and its surrounding areas during the era of the French Revolution. It will also mark the series' jump to next-gen exclusivity for Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC. Unity is rumored to have a four-player, mission-based co-op mode that is said to integrate seamlessly into a solo player's main campaign. While we likely won't hear any official announcements until Ubisoft's E3 press conference on June 9, it is believed that Assassin's Creed Unity will come out sometime during the 2014 holiday season.

Another Assassin's Creed is also expected to appear on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 sometime this fall, CVG adds. Given Assassin's Creed's popularity and Unity's next-gen exclusivity, Ubisoft has likely decided to develop a current-gen AC title. During a recent conference call, Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot told investors that his company will still be supporting current-gen systems "for the foreseeable future," which also included the Assassin's Creed series.

Guillemot's declared support of PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 corroborate with the rumored Assassin's Creed Comet. Comet is allegedly going to act as a more direct sequel to Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag (isn't Assassin's Creed III technically a direct sequel since it follows Edward's son and grandson?). The game will allow you to sail the seas around the New England area as you encounter characters both from Assassin's Creed III and IV.
